This is her story so far!

After achieving her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology; in 2003, she earned her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Yougeeta Singh completed her post-graduation in social work and started her career in the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS).

In 2004, she accepted a position with The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. She was a valuable asset to the agency, where she worked closely with families who had been affected by trauma and had turned to alcohol and drugs. She managed the substance abuse and mental health initiative programs, wherein she assessed and placed a number of clients who were struggling with substance abuse and mental illness in the correct level of care; and also represented the agency among other state and local government agencies to coordinate treatment and be an advocate for their clients.

In 2009, Yougeeta Singh joined the Baltimore City Health Department, Violence Prevention Unit as a Clinical Coordinator for Operation Safe Kids in Baltimore City. She used her expertise to provide clinical supervision to a team working with high-risk youths, shooting victims, and their families. She was also part of a team that coordinated services and interventions with local government agencies and community providers.

In 2013, Yougeeta Singh’s expert skill and clinical knowledge helped her secure a position as a Clinical Director for the state of Florida with Volunteers of America. In the course of her work, she supervised and trained clinical teams throughout the state of Florida; provided Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to homeless veterans and their families struggling with transitioning back to civilian life; combating PTSD, addiction, and moral injuries.  In addition she provided clinical training and leadership to the clinical team statewide to stabilize, house and provide ongoing treatment to the veterans and the severely mentally ill homeless population.

Yougeeta Singh has 19 years of service and experience in handling ethnically diverse children, families, and young adults presenting with mental illness, substance abuse, trauma and veterans in crisis.
